Samuel David Taylor, 77, of Cherokee passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 14, 2017.  

He was a US Army Veteran, Woodcarver, and Gardner.  He was a member of the Bethabara Baptist Church.

Samuel is survived by two brothers, Jonah and Truman Taylor; one sister, Betsy Taylor; 4 Grandchildren, 2 special nieces; and several nieces and nephews.

Samuel was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances (Bell) Taylor; one daughter, Tiny Taylor; and his parents, David & Martha Taylor.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Bethabara Baptist Church from 5 pm until 12 midnight.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 11 AM at the Bethabara Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at the Saunooke Family Cemetery with military honors by the Steve Youngdeer Post 143.  Pallbearers will be Marty Taylor, Jason Taylor, Nat Taylor, Pepper Taylor, Todd Taylor, Jaden Welch, and TT Taylor.

Our hearts broke when we heard the news that Sam was gone. His humor and his friendship to us will always make us smile. Sam was a man that more of us should try to be like, simply good. Please accept our sincere condolences and prayer, and Sam, rest in Heavenly peace.
