Eric Jason “Hokie” Wolfe, 48, of the Big Cove Community in Cherokee, NC passed away on March 26, 2013 at Med West Harris Hospital in Sylva, NC.
A native of Swain County he is the son of the late Ned Wolfe.  Eric is preceded in death by a sister; Edith Wolfe Santiago and a brother; Leonard Wolfe.
Eric is survived by his mother, Inez Swayney Wolfe; children, Megan Wolfe and Eric Jason Wolfe; sisters, Sharon Wolfe, Vickie and Cricket Driver and Janet Wolfe Wildcat of Cherokee; one brother, Darrell Wolfe and wife Carolyn of Knoxville, TN; aunts, Katie Panther, Lillian Crowe, Annie James and Dinah Wolfe Crowe. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
Eric was a counselor/mentor for the Journey House for Men. He was an avid follower of the Pow-Wow Trail. He was a member of the Calico Church of Christ in Big Cove.
The family will receive friends at the Yellowhill Baptist Church on Thursday March 28, 2013 from 4 pm until 12 am (midnight).  The funeral service will be held at Yellowhill Baptist Church on Friday March 29, 2013 at 10 am. An immediate burial will follow in the Hill Family Cemetery located on Soggy Hill Rd, Big Cove Community. Rev. James “Bo” Parris and Pastor Foreman Bradley will officiate the funeral service; Sam Gould of Minnesota will conduct the graveside service.  Pallbearers will be Stan Watty, Richard Driver, Kevin Watty, J.R. Mahsetky, Taylor Wolfe, Jodie Wolfe, Will Lambert and Errol Long.
