Donna Roberta Walkingstick, 60, of Cherokee, NC passed away at the Tsali Care Center following an extended illness on April 01, 2013.

She was the daughter of  the late Guy George, Sr. and Sally Tramper George and the wife to Daniel Walkingstick, Sr. for more than forty years.  She was a homemaker and artisan making beadwork, baskets and other Indian crafts making her way through life.  She was a member of the Waterfalls Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children; sons, Adam Walkingstick, Nicki Jack Walkingstick and Daniel Walkingstick, Jr. all of Swain county NC; sons William Walkingstick, Shane Walkingstick and  Ongeequay Walkingstick all of Jackson county NC; daughter, Carla Walkingstick; sisters Eloise Maney and Sally Ann Shehan.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Guy George, Jr; sisters, Lucinda McCoy and Martha Swelling.

A visitation will be held at the Rocksprings Baptist church starting at 4PM on Tuesday April 2, 2013 and will last till the morning service of 10 AM on the following morning, Wednesday April 3, 2013.  The Rev. James "Bo" Parris and Brother Greg Morgan will officiate.

Danny nd kids, words of grief and sadness shouldn't be heard. I share the happiness your mom is feeling right now. I won't say sorry cause Roberta as I know her is dacning with joy. I know the Great Holy Spirit with lay his hands upon guys for the sadness you guys feel. I remember your mom and dad coming to visit my mom. She was always smiling and i knew she was happy. Every time I seen your mom I seen u dad, at time I seen you guys in tow. I know its hard for your mom not to be here on earth, just remember she will always be with you guys in your heart. Roberta go rest high on your rock, your a peaceful spirit now. Lulululululululululululululululululululululu

I'm so sorry for your loss,and Ongeequay, I'm so sorry that I didn't make it to the service this morning. I will keep you in my prayers and I know that you will carry on everything that your dear mother has taught you in all things . You are a strong survivor and I'm praying for you and your family.
