Leighann Rose McCoy, 39, of the Birdtown Community died Sunday March 3, 2019, of a drug overdose and after a life long battle with substance use disorder and mental health issues.

We, her family know that Leighann was saved many years ago and had recently rededicated her life to Jesus. Leighann faced many battles but could not break the chains of this demon that is wiping out a generation. Addiction doesn’t discriminate, it will take hold and destroy anyone in its path including families and people who love them. Leighann is not just another statistic or “one gone to soon”, she had a loving, caring heart and the most beautiful green eyes you can imagine. She didn’t want to die, she had plans for living life. She loved her family deeply and believed in second chances, maybe because she craved another chance for herself and others suffering from the same disease that took her life. Leighann served her country in the United States Navy before coming home to being a full time mom of four beautiful children.

Leighann is survived by her mother, Ruth McCoy (Tim Taylor),; her children, Ashton Brady (Age 15), Bobby Jo Brady (Age 10), Kaleighla Ray Brady (Age 9), and Samuel Brady (Age 6); Brothers, Kallup McCoy, II and Steve McCoy; Sisters, Angela McCoy Duncan, Kerry McCoy, and Edna Hornbuckle; her nanny, Suzanne Hornbuckle; her spouse of many years, Bobby Brady; biological father, Jack Hornbuckle; several aunts & uncles; and her favorite Aunt Leslie Caron.

She was preceded in death by her Dad, Kallup McCoy, Sr.; Paternal grandparents, Frank and Nellie Lambert McCoy; John and Edna Locust Hornbuckle; Maternal Grandparents, Stacy Sequoyah Queen and Lloyd and Lizzie Sequoyah; her papaw Jim Hornbuckle; and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 11 AM until 12 Midnight at the Bethabara Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 12 Noon.  Kallup McCoy, II, and pastors Matt Huett and Greg Morgan will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cherokee Childrens Home.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I’m praying for strength beyond normal, to comfort you and your family. God does Not cause death right now. "Time and unforeseen occurrences befall all." Ecclesiastes 9:11. Remember: "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,on Earth, as it is in Heaven." Matthew 6:10; Daniel 2:44. You see it is a government that Jesus soon will rule as King. It will bring no more pain, no more sorrow, no more tears, no more death. Revelation 21:3-5. The dead will live again, here on Earth, Soon. Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:11, 29; Isaiah 26:19. Make sure you look up all the scriptures to see this is all true. There is more. If your interested please email me at kathy122346@gmail.com
Everything is free. Jesus said go free give free. Because it is from him.
